The R&B Hotel chain is owned by parent company Washington hotels. This is their most basic Budget hotel option. It’s good for a bed to sleep in and that’s about it, but fine if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room other than sleeping. It’s a good location, 2 blocks South of Sapporo Station and 2 blocks East of Ekimae Dori, with plenty of dining and shopping options in the neighborhood.

The rooms are tiny even by Japanese standards, pretty much just a step up from a closet, with a single bed, desk, chair, and unit toilet/shower. They have LAN internet access, but Wi-Fi is in the lobby only. There’s a small TV with video-on-demand service by prepaid card for ¥1,000 yen. Basic amenities such as a toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner and soap are included.

There’s a small lobby with a few tables and chairs. The lobby has automated check in/check out machines for efficient, fast service. There is a simple breakfast included with fresh baked bread, 100% juice, coffee, hot soup and boiled eggs which is served in the lobby. There’s also a 7-11 convenience store downstairs on the 1sr floor.

The staff are friendly and efficient and there is at least one proficient English speaker on staff. For an absolute basic Budget hotel in a good location this is a good option. The rooms are small but clean, the facilities meet basic essentials, and you can get a good night’s sleep. Above all the location is great, and it’s right next to the Kita no Yuya lunch buffet which is one of Sapporo’s cheapest, most filling lunch options, and within easy walking distance of all major tourist attractions, shopping and dining in Sapporo’s downtown core, making it perfect for budget travelers.
