Opened on February 14th, 2013 (Valentines day), Noymond Organic Cafe (from German for solar eclipse) focuses on 100% organic coffees imported from 9 different countries around the world including Brazil, Mendheling Indonesia, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador Guatemala, Ethiopia, Peru, and Costa Rica, as well as organic teas. Originally they started with the brewing and sales of organic tea made from Hokkaido black soy beans, known as Organic Black Sengoku Soybean Tea. Black soybeans are very rare, accounting for only 0.2% of harvest, and are only available in the Hokkaido area. This tea has a very rich, natural flavor and scent, and is a very easy drinking tea with a light flavor that makes an excellent ice tea. It is also caffeine free and can be drunk by children. It has the distinction of having won the Monde Selection quality award in April of 2013, and is an original product made entirely on-site, only available in Hokkaido.
In addition to organic teas and coffee, they use organic ingredients for their soup, sandwich and salad sets. The tomato soup set is the most popular lunch item, and is made from a mix of 13 different vegetables including Hokkaido tomatoes, Kitaakari potatoes, mixed beans, onion, carrots, lotus root and asparagus. The sandwich set features Mescarpone cheese from Hokkaido, smoked salmon, Organic potatoes and lettuce. The salad set includes over 10 varieties of Hokkaido vegetables with Japanese style (Wafu) dressing. All sets come with your choice of 100% organic coffee or tea and are reasonably priced at around 1,000 yen.
